How Does 3D Cryoelectrolipolysis Work?

A targeted super-cooling process using a special vacuumed applicator, that lowers the treatment area to -6 degree centigrade. Clinical studies show fat cells cannot survive at this temperature and so it effectively kills the fat cells underneath the skin, literally freezing them to the point of elimination. The benefit of this technology is that no other cells are affected, only the fat cells are frozen. Only fat cells can’t survive under such temperatures. During the process, the fat cells crystallize, and die and are naturally eliminated from your body. During the next few months, as those fat cells are naturally dispersed, your new body shape appears. No treatment discomfort. No downtime. No knives. No suction hoses. No needles. No scars. Just a Non-Surgical 3D alternative to liposuction. Using the unique combination of electro and cryo therapy 20-40% of the fat cells in the treated area die in a natural way and dissolve over the course of several months.

3D Cryoelectrolipolysis FAQ

Who discovered Cryoelectrolipolysis?

Cryoelectrolipolysis was discovered by Dermatologists Dieter Manstein, MD, PhD and R. Rox Anderson, MD, of the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Drs. Manstein and Anderson and their research team proved that, under carefully controlled laboratory conditions, subcutaneous fat cells are naturally more vulnerable to the effects of cold than other surrounding tissues.

Their paper published in November 2008, concluded that prolonged, controlled local tissue cooling can induce selective fat cell reduction and subsequent loss of subcutaneous fat without damaging the overlying skin.

This discovery, called “selective cryolysis,” led to the development of the technology behind the non-invasive 3D Cryoelectrolipolysis Procedure

How long is each treatment?

During your consultation, as the therapist you will discuss how much time should be allotted based on your clients individual treatment plan. A typical treatment can last between one and two hours.

How much does 3D Cryoelectrolipolysis cost? How many treatments will my clients need?

The price for 3D Cryoelectrolipolysis varies, depending on the number of areas of concern, and your ultimate goals. As the therapist you will need to assess the client in person to help estimate the cost. Typically, clients see a noticeable reduction of fat in the treated area after one visit, but your clients may appreciate even more fat reduction with additional treatments.

Is Cryoelectrolipolysis safe? Painful? Are there side effects?

Cryoelectrolipolysis is FDA-cleared for the flanks (love handles) and abdomen and is proven to be a safe and effective treatment. Typically, there is minimal to no downtime after the treatment though clients may experience temporary pain or discomfort. Side effects can include redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness to the touch, cramping, itching, tingling, and numbness. Numbness can persist up to several weeks after a procedure. Your therapist can talk to you more about what to expect during and after treatment when you meet for your consultation.

What does it feel like?

As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, clients will feel pressure and intense cold. This soon dissipates. Many people read, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment.

What happens during treatment?

You and your therapist first select the area(s) to be treated. Your therapist will position the device on your body. The device will then draw the bulge up between two cooling panels. The sensation is a firm pull and pressure – enough of a pull to ensure the selected tissue will be cooled most efficiently. An hour or so later, depending on your needs, you’re done.

Can my clients return to normal activities after my treatment?

Yes you can. The procedure is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. Some clients experience redness, minor bruising, tingling, numbness or discomfort in the treated area, but this is temporary and will resolve completely. Often times, clients return to work after the session is over.

When will my clients see results?

Your clients may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after two months. But their body will still flush out fat cells and continues doing so for up to four to six months after treatment.

Are the results permanent?

When your clients their 3D Cryoelectrolipolysis treatment, the affected fat cells will be eliminated. As long as they maintain their weight with normal diet and exercise, their long-term results should remain stable.

Do my clients need to take special supplements or follow a strict diet and exercise program?

No supplements or pills are required and you do not have to adopt new diet and exercise habits. Many clients feel more motivated to take care of themselves after the 3D Cryoelectrolipolysis treatment, too. Like they get a second lease on their body and want to start anew again by taking even better care of themselves.
